My name is Julia (I go by Jules) and the Bega Valley has been my home for almost twenty years. My therapeutic work is grounded in a rich life experience and a passionate interest in psychological wellbeing. I believe that therapy can help us bring about positive change, heal from the wounds of the past and create richer, more meaningful lives.

I provide mental health assessments and evidence-based treatment within current diagnostic frameworks. I also take a holistic approach that frames mental distress in the broad context of our lives and the world in which we live. My aim is for us to work together to develop more hopeful stories about our lives and the difficulties we face, so we can create lives worth living.

I provide psychological supports to individuals of all ages and cultural/identity backgrounds. As a rural psychologist, I work with a broad range of mental health difficulties. I work with people to relieve distress, manage uncomfortable emotions, create meaningful relationships, generate insight and self-compassion, and develop resilience to life’s stressors.

My clinical experience is in government and non-government mental health organisations, with a focus on working with children, young people and their families.

I utilise diverse therapeutic modalities, including: Schema Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and transdiagnostic treatment protocols. I provide specialised eating disorder therapies such as Family Based Treatment (FBT), CBT-e and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM).

I also offer the Parent Hope Project, a manualised six-week program designed to increase parents’ and caregivers’ confidence to navigate the inevitable challenges of family life.
